Disney Party & Pla!

Wow this weekend was a total whirlwind! Sometimes I get these wild ideas like, “let’s go to Sydney for a Disney Party on Friday and then come back the next day at 7am to do a cereal box bag workshop”! Sooo that’s what happened at the end of last week! My friend Patience and I packed our bags on Friday night and scooted off to Sydney for the MOST amazing soiree to celebrate 100 years of Disney at the Grounds of Alexandria. Never wanting to miss an opportunity to dress up (even though it wasn’t explicitly a costume party), we decided that a nod to Alice in Wonderland would be pretty cool direction to explore for our outfits. This is us prepping at the hotel room (I jokingly said to Pae that this photo of me on the couch is better than my Wedding photo haha because I think it is THAT GOOD!). Needless to say we were feeling ourselves…

The Disney party itself was TOTALLY incredible. The Grounds of Alexandria was transferred into a maze-like Wonderland filled with spectacular installations and performances that brought the space to life. We felt right at home!

After the party we scooted back to The Ace Hotel where we were staying (it was sooooo nice) to have some Ruby Margheritas at the bar and pose obnoxiously on the very conveniently placed staircase…

Then it was time to say GOODNIGHT and then suddenly it was 5am and time to catch out flight home to Brisbane. I won’t lie, this rise was painful! And in a cruel turn of events, as I was eating my breaky in the Virgin lounge (feelings SO fancy) when the orthodontic wire on the back of my teeth (the one that keeps them straight ya know) snapped off and sliced me on the lip…major OUCH! I attempted to ask the staff for a pair of scissors to cut it but FAIR ENOUGH they gave me some deeply unnerved expressions and said “No.”. Sooo for the rest of the morning I was travelling with a hazardous piece of wire dangling around in my mouth which made it a tad uncomfortable on the plane home. But that’s showbiz people and before we knew it we were home again and ready to Pla Pla!

PIPE CLEANER PLA PLA BAG

As mentioned in a previous post, I have started a new project called Pla Pla. It involves a monthly prompt and workshop/gathering with some pals to bring something fun to life. If you want to read that post and find out more info you can here. But for now, I’ll leave you with some pictures from the day:

Ok, I think that’s quite enough from me for now! If you joined in with Pla Pla this weekend I hope you enjoyed and made something spesh!
