7 years ago I did my first Creative Mornings talk, and by some kind of serendipity, this July found me doing the exact same thing. Thank you facebook memories for reminding me of those memories, and wow…despite 7 years passing public speaking is still just as nerve inducing as it was back in 2016. BUT much has happened and much has changed over these many moons, and I was thrilled to SELL OUT (omg!) the session and have the chance to speak on the theme TREASURE!

To spice things up and try something different, I thought it would be fun to link the talk together with a big game of pass the parcel. I was a bit nervous that it was going to be too chaotic or overly distracting with 150 people - but I think it really added something memorable. Each layer of the parcel had a little treasure in it (of course) and also a written question for the winner related to the theme. Everyone was so brave and gave amazing answers, and it was glorious to see them wearing their winnings as well.

It was such an amazing morning - I think I have to say that this was my favourite talk ever! I found Treasure to be a wonderful topic to speak to and there were just so many magical moments! Like the moment the winner of the pass the parcel’s centre prize opened their tinsel jacket ! There was a BEAT before the person draped on their tinsel and posed up a storm to raucous cheers and claps! It was marvellous! This person actually pulled me aside later and told me that when I announced the game they had experienced a real life premonition - they said they knew they were going to win! Gosh I loveeee that!
